황제는 '황제내경 소문 천원기대론'에서,“帝曰, 善. 何謂氣有多少, 形有盛衰”(황제가 말한다. 좋구나. 氣에는 다소가 있고, 形에는 성쇠가 있다고 하는데 어떠한가)
구유구는,“鬼臾區曰 陰陽之氣 各有多少 故曰三陽三陰也. 形有盛衰 謂五行之治 各有太過不及也”(구유구는 말한다. 음양의 氣는 각기 多少가 있기 때문에 3양3음이라고 말합니다. 形에 성쇠가 있다는 것은 5행의 다스림으로 태과불급이 있습니다)라고 氣의 多少(기,음양)와 形의 성쇠(형,5행)을 설명한다.
