황제는 '황제내경 6원정기대론'에서,“帝曰, 願聞其行 何謂也”(황제가 말한다. 그 行이 어떻게 이르렀는지 듣고 싶소)
기백은, "岐伯曰, 春氣西行 夏氣北行 秋氣東行 冬氣南行 故春氣始于下 秋氣始于上 夏氣始于中 冬氣始于標 春氣始于左 秋氣始于右 冬氣始于後 夏氣始于前 此四時正化之常 故至高之地 冬氣常在 至下之地 春氣常在 必勤察之"(春氣는 西行하고 夏氣는 北行하고 秋氣는 東行하고 冬氣는 南行합니다. 그러므로 春氣는 아래에서 시작하고 秋氣는 위에서 시작하고 夏氣는 가운데서 시작하고 冬氣는 표에서 시작한다. 春氣는 왼편에서 시작하고 秋氣는 오른편에서 시작하고 冬氣는 뒤에서 시작하고 夏氣는 앞에서 시작합니다. 이것이 4時가 正으로 化하는 常입니다. 그러므로 가장 높은 땅에는 冬氣가 항상 있고 가장 낮은 땅에는 春氣가 항상 있으니 반드시 삼가 察해야 합니다)라고 춘하추동이 行한다.

Chunqi (Sping-Qi) is in the east, so it starts from the left; Qiuqi ( Autumn-Qi) is in the west, so it starts from the right; Xiaqi (Summer-Qi) is in the north, so it starts from the back; and Dongqi (Winter-Qi) is in the south, so it starts from the front. These are normal states of the transformation of Qi in the four seasons. Thus Dongqi (Winter-Qi) is always found in highlands and Chunqi (Sping-Qi) is often found in lowlands. There conditions must be carefully observed.” It eplains that the four season moves.
